A man who drugged his wife and allegedly allowed strangers to rape her had over one million photographs and videos of the alleged abuse, a court has heard. The man, in his 60s, pleaded guilty in September to multiple sexual offences against his wife, including rape and administering a substance with intent. Details of the photographs and videos emerged as Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester tries nine men accused of sexual offences against the victim. The nine men deny all offences. “There were over a million photographs and videos cataloguing not only his abuse of his wife but abuse on her committed by others, including those in the dock today,” Louise Oakley KC said. To protect his wife’s anonymity, authorities cannot identify the man who pleaded guilty in September. He remains in custody and will be sentenced later. The nine accused men are aged between 28 and 70. All have pleaded not guilty and deny all charges against them. Manchester Crown Court heard that when police downloaded the content of the husband’s phone, they found a secure folder in an album called "visits". This folder was said to contain videos of several different men carrying out sexual acts on the woman while she, the prosecution suggested, appeared to be unconscious. “It contained decades worth of material. Material not only created on that device but material that had been downloaded onto it from other devices, devices including cameras and other mobile telephones," Ms Oakley said. She added: "It contained the husband’s darkest secrets and his barbaric sexual fantasies that he had sought to fulfil going back to 2004." Ms Oakley also said officers discovered thousands of emails, messages and online chats in various online forums and groups. The trail continues. Follow related topics:
