Daniel Dubois DESTROYS Fabio Wardley in two rounds in rematch Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley clashed in a rematch of their heavyweight slugfest in May with Dubos putting his world title on the line in London Daniel Dubois needed just two rounds to demolish Fabio Wardley in their heavyweight world title rematch. Dubois made a ferocious start, dropping Wardley after just 15 seconds with a rocket of a right hand. Wardley did well to recover and managed to survive until the end of the round. But Dubois' onslaught continued and Wardley's corner was forced to throw in the towel. "I had bad intentions from the beginning," said Dubois. "Our back was against the wall first time. We just had to go out there and show we meant business tonight." The heavyweights were renewing their rivalry just five months after their fight-of-the-year slugfest which saw Dubois recover from two early knockdowns to stop his British rival. On that occasion, Dubois' slow start almost cost him as Wardley decked him twice in the opening three rounds. But after Wardley was roared into the ring as the challenger - followed by more than a smattering of boos for the champion - Dubois made a lightening-fast start this time. Wardley touched the canvas following the Londoner's first attack from a huge right hand. He did well to recover his composure but came under fire again at the end of the round. Coach Ben Davison was poised with the towel but the bell sounded first Dubois was straight off his stool at the start of the second round and swarmed all over Wardley. And this time his corner had no hesitation but to throw in the towel. "It's never fun to lose," said Wardley. "It is what it is, I've always thrown myself in with the biggest, toughest, meanest guys around, there's no shame in testing yourself against the best. Daniel is testament to coming again and I'll come again." Make sure you don't miss sport's biggest stories and breaking news by making the Daily Mirror one of your Google preferred sources. On the undercard, Bakhodir Jalolov laboured to victory over Solomon Dacres. The Uzbek heavyweight, who has won two Olympic gold medals, dropped his once-beaten opponent in the fifth round but Dacres recovered to survive to hear the final bell. All three judges gave Jaolov the nod, by scores of 99-91, 99-90 and 99-90. R Rising heavyweight star Adam Olaniyan roused the crowd from their slumber with his fifth successive stoppage. The 20-year-old dropped Dan Garber in the second round and the Brit's corner immediately threw in the towel. But the referee ignored the surrender and allowed Garber to continue only for another right hand to drop him again, and this time the contest was waved off.
