Far-right activist Danny Tommo arrested a day after ‘slashing migrant boat as it crossed Channel’

FAR-right activist Danny Tommo has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life, according to a video he posted this evening. Tommo is Tommy Robinson’s right-hand man and has rallied hundreds of balaclava-clad supporters to descend on the south coast for anti-migrant protests over the past weeks. The 37-year-old, whose real name is Daniel Thomas, was pounced on by cops at a BP petrol station as unmarked police cars surrounded a vehicle he was in. Dramatic footage uploaded to his YouTube channel appears to show the moment officers swooped in to arrest him. Tommo can be seen getting out of his car as police approach. He can then be heard saying: “Yep okay, okay, if I can just speak to my kids, I’m trying to say goodbye to my kids.” Read More in UK News An officer tells him: “At this moment in time we have information to suggest that you have been involved in criminal damage.” Another officer can then be heard saying “let’s go, let’s go” as Tommo is placed in handcuffs. The arrest came after cops said they were investigating an incident in the Channel in which a dinghy was allegedly slashed with a blade while a rescue worker was onboard. The boat had been carrying about 50 migrants who had launched from a beach in Normandy. They were then transferred to a UK Border Force vessel and taken to Dover for processing. Tommo had been filming the transfer from a yellow speedboat while giving commentary to a live stream audience of more than 15,000 people. The video then shows him sailing up to the boat, taking out a small knife and starting to slash at the side of the migrant boat. There were no migrants on board, but there was a French official from the coastguard vessel Abeille Liberté. Tommy Robinson today claimed on X that Tommo had been arrested for “criminal damage” and “recklessly endangering someone’s life”. He said the arrest was linked to Tommo “trying to stop the invasion of our country”. The exact circumstances of the Channel incident and the allegations against Tommo have not been established in court. Cops have not yet publicly confirmed the arrest or provided further details about the investigation.
