Greek police are now investigating the death of the man at the holiday hotspot - with the 76-year-old arrested on suspicion of fatal bodily harm. The man arrived to the popular Vouliagmeni beach just before 10am with one eye on securing a sunbed for the day. But a dispute soon broke out between the 82-year-old and a man described by authorities as a "76-year-old man unknown to him" over one of the limited lounging spots available. The argument over soon desccended into a full-blown brawl, according to local media. The older beachgoer is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest during the scuffle. "It seems that people who were with [the assailant] also participated," according to ERT, the country's public broadcaster. A 21-year-old woman who was with the younger beachgoer was taken into custody but later released. The 82-year-old arrived at the beach at 10am hoping to get a sunlounger, but soon got into an argument with a 76-year-old man |WIKIMEDIA / C MESSIER Witnesses told local media screams from the outburst could be heard from the other side of the beach. "All hell broke loose," a beachgoer told Greece's Star News. "I'd never heard a woman scream like that before. "You could hear her all the way to the other end," he said, claiming to see both men striking each other. He added: "And all of this over a lounge chair and a chair." MORE FROM GREECE: The 82-year-old was taken to ambulance to a hospital in Voula after emergency services used a defibrillator on the scene. He then died at the hospital at around 11am, despite doctors' best efforts. A separate witness, who said he was friends with the 76-year-old man, recounted his version of events - but admitted he was not at the scene of the brawl. He claimed: "My friend went to get the lounge chairs; I was buying a ticket. He added: "My friend has injuries, as does the girl who was with him." A source told The Guardian the alleged brawl was "shocking", saying disagreements are usually expressed vocally and "not in fistfights like this - especially between two elderly men". Authorities said all those involved in the death would appear before a magistrate today.
