Andy Burnham doubles down on trying to reach Net Zero by 2050 despite soaring energy bills

ANDY Burnham has doubled down on trying to reach Net Zero by 2050. The PM rejected demands to pull back on the eco dash to try to keep down energy bills. He wrote in the Guardian: “The climate crisis presents us with an enormous challenge and possibility. “In the coming years, we need to change the way we travel, build homes and produce energy. “I have long seen the green transition as the best chance we will ever have to reindustrialise Britain.” Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh confirmed that Labour would not grant new North Sea oil and gas licences. Read more on Net Zero But she is expected to approve the Jackdaw and Rosebank gas and oil fields. Those fields already had licences but need her final sign-off. She also dismissed rumours that a decision would not come before the Holborn and St Pancras by-election where the Greens are a threat. But Reform’s Richard Tice said: “Burnham babbles on with Labour’s Net Stupid Zero zealotry whilst our bills soar.”
