Three-year-old Noah Woods was last seen at around 3pm on Tuesday in Brantham. He went missing after becoming separated from a relative after visiting the playground in the town's Merriam Close. He is believed to have run off down an alleyway next to the playground that leads to a new-build housing estate. Police have described Noah as white, with curly ginger hair - and he was last seen wearing a T-shirt branded with pictures from children's TV show Bluey, shorts and black Vans trainers with a white stripe. He is partially deaf, non-verbal and autistic. Police have asked residents in the area to check areas such as their gardens, sheds and outbuildings, in an effort to find Noah. Rescue teams were carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area into the evening before volunteers were told to go home and get some rest once night fell. Emergency services would continue in their search for Noah overnight, the local council said. "We have deployed specially trained officers to assist with our search of the area today, including helicopters and drones," Suffolk Constabulary's Superintendent Pete Partridge said. "A vast number of resources have been deployed by ourselves, our emergency services colleagues and volunteers from Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue. "These resources have been bolstered by members of the public who have turned out in large numbers to assist and we are incredibly grateful for their help and support. "Given that fast-moving nature of the investigation, it is important that any public searches are coordinated with police to ensure we are working together, and that our resources are directed where they can be most effective." Though Supt Partridge urged locals not to put themselves at risk or undertake independent searches overnight. "We will continue to keep Noah’s family and the public updated on the progress of our searches and investigation," he added. The aircraft appeared to be circling above fields and woodland behind the housing estate near the playground, according to the BBC. Brantham sits near the estuary of the River Stour, hence the Coastguard response. A spokesman for the service confirmed it was helping police with "an incident at Brantham" by sending an HM Coastguard helicopter and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Felixstowe and Holbrook. In total, the search has been bolstered by helicopters from the National Police Air Service and HM Coastguard, Coastguards on the ground, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, police, specially trained officers and dog units - and a vast number of members of the public. Councillor Alistair McCraw, who represents Brantham on Babergh District Council, has said there is a “massive police presence” in the village and urged locals to support the emergency services "while they deal with this difficult situation". It said on social media: "We have no updates confirming the safe return of Noah. We urge you all to check your gardens, neighbours' gardens and behind bins or cars." Anyone with private CCTV or doorbell cameras in the village, or who were driving through the area with a dashcam, are asked to review the footage from 3pm yesterday afternoon onwards for any possible sightings of the boy.
