Wyle addressed Ganes's shock departure in April, calling it an 'inevitability' due to the nature of the show. 'As always, we try to bring in new characters or promote from within as we go through these cast changes and try to keep the storylines fresh,' he said, noting that real-life 'emergency rooms have a high revolving door.'
