The man, who cannot be named to protect his wife's identity, admitted to the offences at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court today. Earlier this year, the man pleaded guilty to a number of sexual offences against his wife, dating between 2022 and 2025, including rape and sexual assault. The husband, in his 60s from Stockport in Manchester, today admitted to a further string of offences, dating back to 2004, including administering a substance with intent to stupefy or overpower. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say He admitted to 45 charges – now pleading guilty to a total of 60 – including 16 counts of rape, nine counts of assault by penetration, eight counts of other sexual offences, seven counts of sexual assault, four counts of attempted rape and one count of administering a substance with intent. Wearing a dark grey suit, the man at one point broke down in tears as he entered his pleas from the dock in the Manchester court. He was allowed to sit down to answer the remaining charges. The victim sat in the front row of the public gallery during the hearing, surrounded by family members. "Specialist support continues to be provided to the victim at the centre of this case. "You are not expected to understand exactly what has happened or who was involved in order to be taken seriously. If you feel that something has happened, then please report it or ask for help." LATEST DEVELOPMENTS Twelve co-defendants all deny various allegations involving the same woman. The prosecution is yet to open the case, but a jury has been sworn in.
