Chelsea outcasts Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo complete shock Tottenham moves on transfer deadline day

TOTTENHAM have announced the signings of Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo from bitter rivals Chelsea. The pair, 25 and 28, have joined Spurs on loan and permanent deals, respectively. They join the north Londoners after being deemed surplus to requirements by new Blues boss Xabi Alonso. Mudryk said of his move across the capital: “It’s a great feeling. “I can’t wait to start training and playing for the club, and I’m so excited to be reunited with Roberto De Zerbi. “I’m a player who brings speed and creativity, and I want to help in both the offensive and defensive areas. I can see it’s a strong squad here with good players. “And I’m looking forward to sharing a pitch and special moments with them.” Adarabioyo said: “I’m in an important part of my career, and speaking to the Head Coach and knowing the type of football he wants to play, I think it’s a very good fit. “He wants the team to play with courage and that’s something that I always look to do. He said: “Having worked with Misha earlier in his career, I know exactly what he can bring to our team. “He has the quality to change a game with his speed and ability in one-vs-one situations, and is an exciting, attacking talent. “I will demand a lot from Misha and it is our job to help him find the best version of himself. “If we do that then he can become a very important player for us. am very happy he chose to come here, and I cannot wait to work with him again.” The Italian said of Adarabioyo’s arrival: “Tosin is a strong, athletic defender who plays with confidence and understands the demands of playing at the highest level. “I’ve also been impressed with his mentality and desire to be part of what we are building. He knows the responsibility that comes with representing this club. “We’re very happy to have Tosin with us and I know our supporters will quickly see the qualities he can bring to the team.” Mudryk will look to use his Spurs stint to rebuild a career which threatened to be permanently derailed by a failed drugs test administered in October 2024. He was handed a FOUR-YEAR suspension after a test discovered traces of the banned substance meldonium in his system. Mudryk denied intentionally taking the substance, which can increase endurance, and blamed the positive test on a contaminated substance. He appealed the suspension to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and was this summer given clearance by the FA to return to the pitch. Mudryk hasn’t played a competitive game since scoring in Chelsea‘s Uefa Conference win over FC Heidenheim in November 2024. He returned to the fold last month in a pre-season friendly against Juventus, coming on in the 82nd minute to a rapturous applause.
