Man arrested for attempted murder on tube as man in 30s fights for life A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man is left fighting for his life with serious head injuries following an assault on the Underground A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a serious assault took place at a London Underground station. The 38-year-old was detained on Monday, August 31 in East London after a man in his 30s was assaulted at Liverpool Street Station on Sunday evening. Police responded to reports of the assault at 10.51pm on Sunday and alongside paramedics found a man in his 30s on the Central Line platform with life-threatening head injuries. The man remains in custody and the police are urging any witnesses to come forward. BTP Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “This is a key step in our investigation, which continues to progress at pace. Based on our enquiries to date, we are not seeking to identify anyone else in connection with this incident. “Our thoughts remain the victim and his family at this difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers. “We are still keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to police.
