Outside Hayes & Harlington railway station in Hillingdon, emergency services have surrounded a bus which looks to have veered into a building. The H90 to Hounslow can be seen facing sideways, with the front of it having made contact with a wall. Police and fire fighters attended the scene on Station Road, with crowds gathering around the crash. A TfL spokesman said: "Our thoughts are with the person who was injured when a bus collided with a building in Hayes and Harlington earlier today. “Safety is our top priority and we and the bus operator, First Bus are assisting the police to establish what happened.” The bus appears to have crashed into the wall of Trident House, an apartment bock next to Hayes & Harlington station. It is not yet known if there were any casualties during the incident. Transport for London (TfL) advised on their website for travellers to "use alternative routes" in the area due to a "serious" incident. It writes: "Station Road is closed between North Hyde Road and Clayton Road in both directions. There are east and westbound delays on North Hyde Road. "Station Road (Northbound) o/S Hayes and Harlington Station - Road is obstructed due to a road traffic collision." This comes after a double-decker bus smashed into a house in the Norfolk village of Ormesby St Margaret yesterday, which left residents shaken but fortunately, no injuries were reported. One neighbour, Kevin Griffin, 64, said the impact "sounded like a bomb going off," describing a cloud of dust engulfing the street before he ran to help passengers off the bus. It is understood between seven and eight passengers were on board at the time. The property's owners were not home during the collision, and the house was left with its interior fully exposed. A First Bus spokesman said there were no reports of injuries among staff, passengers or the public, and that the firm was working with emergency services on next steps. It also follows an incident in July, when a TfL bus mounted the kerb in Notting Hill and struck the front wall of a house, also damaging two nearby cars. One person suffered a minor injury but did not require treatment. Local Nicholas Katsantonis, 29, who witnessed the crash, described it as "crazy," adding that he had never seen anything like it on the quiet residential street. TfL said it was working closely with First Bus to investigate the incident.
