Working Brits under 35 will be pushed to the front of the queue for social housing under radical new Reform plans

WORKING Brits aged under 35 will go to the front of the queue for social housing under Reform UK plans. Forces veterans and married couples with kids would also get priority. Reform’s deputy leader Richard Tice, who will announce the proposals today, said: “Young British men and women, who are working hard, can’t afford to move out of their family home.” Mr Tice’s party has already pledged to remove foreign nationals, after a short grace period, from an estimated 540,000 social homes. Reform says around 195,000 of the 1.3million households currently on waiting lists are foreign. Mr Tice is also expected to pledge to build 50,000 affordable homes every year. READ MORE ON REFORM Reform claims the investment would be fiscally neutral. They say it would require no new taxes or borrowing. A Government spokesman called the plans “unserious and unworkable”. They added: “Access to social housing is already tightly controlled.
