Jennifer Ann Uglow, from Whitstone near Holsworthy, Devon, suffered serious injuries after the incident on July 29 and was taken to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital. But she died 11 days later on August 9, having suffered multiple wounds to her chest. The inquest at Exeter Coroners' Court, which opened on Wednesday, heard her cause of death was given as respiratory failure caused by chest wall trauma. Mrs Uglow was born in Cornwall and lived at West Balsdon farm, near Holsworthy. The inquest was adjourned and will be heard at a later date. It comes just days after a previous inquest heard a pensioner died of severe chest injuries after being 'trampled by cattle' at a National Trust estate. Retired telecommunications engineer John Orton, 78, was killed after being injured by animals at Felbrigg Hall in Norfolk on July 13. A Health and Safety Executive spokesman said: 'We are now leading the investigation into the death of John Orton. 'Our thoughts remain with his friends and family at this difficult time.' A National Trust spokesman said: 'We are shocked and deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.' In another incident, a young woman was trampled to death by cows just moments after taking a photograph of the herd and sending it to her mother. Rebekah Morris, 29, was out walking her small chihuahua in fields close to her home when she sent the image to her mother with the caption 'cowz'. She then stopped responding to messages, prompting her worried parents to go to the field in the photograph, where they found her. Emergency services were called, but she went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene in Littlethorpe, Leicestershire, on the evening of July 9, 2022.
