UK weather maps plunge to 7C days after 35C heatwave - 36 areas below 9C The UK is set to feel a sharp change in temperatures at the beginning of August after a heatwave is expected to heat up the nation at the end of this month before the chill At the start of next month, the UK is expected to plummet to chilling temperatures after a scorching heatwave takes hold of the nation. Tomorrow, temperatures are forecast to skyrocket to 35C or higher across five regions: Yorkshire and the Humber, the East Midlands, the East of England, London, and the South East. However, in just days, there may be a sharp change as temperatures in some areas will drop to 7C on Thursday, August 6 according to WXCharts weather maps. The maps show a major decrease in temperature across the whole nation, with the majority of the coldest temperatures being felt in Scotland. The lowest temperature is expected to be around 7C in the Highlands. However, it isn't just Scotland that will be feeling the cold snap, as several areas across Wales and England will also experiences lows of 9C. In Wales, Brecknockshire and Radnorshire are among the areas that will fall to single digits. In England, the coldest areas are unsurprisingly in the north, with Yorkshire and Durham falling to 9C. The cool temperatures are expected to carry on into the Friday, with areas in the north experiencing harsher lows as London sits at around 13C. The forecast says: "Temperatures ranging from around average in the NW to warm in the southeast, perhaps becoming very warm in the southeast through the weekend. "It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK early in August. "This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again towards the end of the first week of August."
