Adam Peaty kisses pregnant wife Holly Ramsay after missing out on gold at the Commonwealth Games

ADAM Peaty and his pregnant wife Holly Ramsay packed on the PDA after he missed out on gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. The 31-year-old was up for his 33rd major gold medal at the 100m breaststroke final but failed to scoop the coveted prize. He came in third place behind Filip Nowacki, 18, from Jersey, and Australian Sam Williamson took the gold. Despite the devastating blow, his doting new wife Holly was watching from the stands in support. After the race, Adam was seen strolling over to Holly, 26, before he planted sweet kiss on her baby bump. They were later spotted locking lips as Holly held his face in her hands. Holly looked incredibly proud of her husband and stayed at his side as he broke down in tears over the blow. “I’m never afraid to show emotion. It’s important because it helps create stronger people, stronger men, stronger fathers and stronger husbands,” said Adam. “This cycle especially, I’ve worked harder than ever. There’s a lot of thinking to do, but it’s too early to draw any conclusions.” Adam ranted: “Maybe it was just an off swim. Maybe it’s because I’ve been away from championship racing for two years. I honestly don’t know. “What’s the point of all the 5.30am starts? What’s the point of all the metres every single day? What’s the point of being exhausted all the time, or missing family events because you have to train? “It has to mean something. For me, that means striving for excellence, and today wasn’t excellence. That’s where the emotion comes from.” He confessed he’d made some “difficult” choices over the last few months but was “proud” that he didn’t quit after [the] Paris [Olympics]. Adam added: “My wife will always be proud of me. As a father, it doesn’t matter whether you come home with a gold medal, as long as you come home. That’s what really matters.” The smitten couple tied the knot at a star-studded Bath Abbey affair on December 27 last year. They announced they were expecting their first child together back on June 20.
