Andy Burnham may ‘not wear a suit’ on first appearance as Prime Minister reveals Christopher Hope
GB News has been told to ‘wait and see’ on the incoming Prime Minister’s sartorial choices Andy Burnham could be set to forgo the formality of wearing a suit or using a lectern in his first appearance as Prime Minister, Christopher Hope has revealed. The GB News' Political Editor suggested such a move could "set the tone for a more informal Government". Despite a long career in politics, including Cabinet posts, Mr Burnham has been keen to stress his standing as a politician outside the Westminster mould. As such, the former Manchester Mayor is often seen sporting a signature dark blue T-shirt combined with a suit jacket. “He may turn up tomorrow in a T-shirt, give a speech. I'm told he may not even use a lectern,” Christopher said. “He may not wear a suit, I'm told on both counts: ‘wait and see’. So this could set the tone for a more informal government,” he added.
