Argentina stranded at Atlanta hotel after thunderstorms stop Lionel Messi and Co flying to New York for World Cup final

ARGENTINA have been left stranded after thunderstorms stopped them flying to the World Cup final. The South Americans are still in Atlanta following their semi-final victory over England. Lionel Scaloni’s men would have been hoping to make the trip to New York today in order to prepare for the final against Spain on Sunday. However, their preparations have taken a major blow after their flight was delayed. Reports claim that the entire team and delegation from Argentina have been left stranded until operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport are back up and running. If they are unable to fly until the morning, it could give the team just over one full day in New York before facing the Spanish. Argentina reached the final after their 2-1 win over the Three Lions at the Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday night.
