QATAR star Assim Madibo was in tears after his horror challenge led to a red card and an opponent being stretchered off with a suspected broken leg. Madibo, 29, was distraught after a tackle led to a serious injury for Canada’s Ismael Kone in the Group B clash. The Qatar player was initially shown a yellow card – but it was later upgraded to a red. Kone was taken off on a stretcher for Canada with what looked like a broken leg. And Madibo left the pitch in tears in the 53rd minute of the World Cup contest. Madibo currently plays his club football at Al-Wakrah, on loan from Al-Duhail, in the Qatar stars league.
